ALUMNI ENTREPRENEUR SERIES: NAKUL JAIN

Nakul Jain testimonial

In our Alumni Entrepreneur Series this month, we’ve picked Nakul Jain, alumnus from our Class of MGB 2014 & Co-founder at The Laundry Basket. In our candid interaction with him, we find out about his time at S P Jain.

“Never having stayed away from home, joining S P Jain had gotten me nervously excited. Travelling to three different cities over a period of 1 year; I knew the possibilities and opportunities that lay in front of me were immense”, shares Nakul when we asked him about his initial thoughts on choosing S P Jain to pursue his Masters.

He mentions how despite being a Chartered Accountant, he has always wanted to start his own business. S P Jain provided him the platform to start off. “It has been a great learning experience at S P Jain. The tri-city model has given me great exposure in understanding how businesses are run in different parts of the world. The un-ending case studies, business simulations and management exercises have been really helpful and have compelled us to think differently. Not only inside classrooms, S P Jain pushed us to get out of our campuses and experience the real world. Our research projects, in particular, helped us interact with a lot of businesses and understand how things work in different parts of the world”, shared Nakul.

He does however mention that it was not just ‘all-work’ when he was at S P Jain. “In spite of our hectic curriculum, we always managed to pull out time for late-night parties, birthday celebrations and sports; some things which I shall treasure forever”, he pointed.

Nakul went on to explain how S P Jain provides a great platform for younger MBA aspirants with exposure to three major cities of the world. “It has given me the confidence and understanding of starting up my own venture – The Laundry Basket”, said Nakul. The Laundry Basket is a ‘Mobile App-Based On-Demand Laundry Service Provider’ currently operational in Bangalore and hopes to scale across Pan-India very soon.

Rushing in all the good luck your way, Nakul!
